Chester Lingotot Centre
¡Hola! Ciao! Bonjour!
I’m Sarah and I live in Cheshire with my wonderful family; my Italian husband and two bilingual children, 5 and 2. I speak Spanish, French, Italian and Catalan (yes, Catalan, unusual I know!). I’ve been passionate about learning languages ever since I was little. I even organised my first exchange visit to Spain for a group of students when I was just 17. I love travelling and meeting people from other cultures. I spent time living in Almería, Spain to gain fluency in the language and immerse myself in the culture. There I taught English in a Spanish secondary school before completing my Languages Degree at the University of Sheffield, then a PGCE in Manchester.
Becoming a Languages Teacher was always my vocation; a career I carved for myself from a young age. My passion is to inspire others to love learning languages and to teach others the skills to be able to communicate with people from all over the world. Speaking a different language gives you a completely different perspective on life. I believe Nelson Mandela’s mantra that “ If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” I feel so fortunate to be able to speak so many languages and it is my mission to galvanise others to do so.
With over 13 years of experience teaching Spanish, French and Italian, I have a wide expertise of teaching across the different age groups: primary schools; secondary schools and adults! Having held various leadership roles, my most recent in a secondary school as Deputy Headteacher, I have substantial experience of leading teaching and learning in schools, developing teachers across many schools and working with networks of schools to be at the forefront of innovations in education.
Bringing up bilingual children prompted me to research more closely early years language acquisition, which led me to Lingotot. It is proven that learning a foreign language not only improves the brain’s mental ability and thinking skills but develops your understanding of the world and other cultures. The younger you start to learn a language, the easier it is and the sooner you can benefit from all of the advantages it brings.
At Lingotot we teach languages in a fun, interactive way through song and play. My aim is for children to enjoy learning a language in a positive environment of success for all. I build confidence and promote a lifelong love of languages. Our classes are for babies, toddlers and primary school children. The sessions are taught almost entirely in the foreign language to totally immerse the children.
At Lingotot Chester I offer Spanish, Italian and French:
baby and parent community classes;
day nursery and preschool sessions;
KS1 and KS2 lessons at Primary Schools (PPA cover);
lunch time and after school clubs;
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions at all about Lingotot. I hope to see you in class soon.
¡Hasta pronto! A presto! à bientôt!

Sarah from Lingotot delivered a fantastic session at our preschool. All children were engaged, excited and listened well. Children were able to listen because Sarah made their experience fun and exciting!
As a preschool manager with a degree in Early Years, I was really impressed with the service provided and Sarah’s teaching styles with the children.
If you are looking for a kind, caring, experienced and knowledgeable teacher to teach your child a different language then I would definitely recommend Sarah.
