Eastbourne Lingotot Centre
I'm Sarah and I'm the director of Lingotot Eastbourne. I started learning French when I was 2 years old, through songs and games in nursery, and from there I developed a real passion for languages which never left me. I love that through other languages you can learn so much more about the world, express yourself in different ways and learn about other cultures. I went on to study French , Spanish and Portuguese at University and have lived in both France and Spain teaching languages to students of all ages and levels. I especially love teaching children as they are like little sponges and absorb everything so quickly, and they give you back tenfold the energy and enthusiasm you give to them!
Learning a language as a child provides so many benefits, from gaining confidence, to their brains developing more quickly, to improving memory and the ability to multitask. And children absolutely love learning another language and showing off their skills!
Speaking of children, I have two of my own, Tadhg and Aoibhe, and have been a single parent since my youngest was born. They are my very own little lingotots and my inspiration for everything. We love to practice Spanish and French together and I love seeing their little faces light up when we learn a new word. As a single mother, it has been difficult to find work that works around having two young children and so Lingotot encompasses everything for me - my love of languages, my passion for teaching children and my ambition to provide for my own children and still be able to be present with them.
Lingotot classes are packed full of interactive songs, games, stories, a craft and most importantly, they are fun! All of the sessions are conducted almost entirely in the target language and in our community classes, you learn alongside your children. Classes are suitable for babies, toddlers, young children and their parents/carers so that the whole family can enjoy learning a new language together.
Lingotot Eastbourne teach in community classes, day nurseries, KS1 and KS2 at Primary Schools (PPA), Lunch and Afterschool clubs as well as holiday camps
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all about Lingotot, or about what we can do to help your little ones in their language journey.
I hope to see you in a class soon.
hasta pronto, à bientôt,

Spanish class review
“Daisy and I had the pleasure of joining along with Sarah’s online class last week. Daisy’s four and missing school a lot, but by the end of the class she was repeating colours to me in Spanish. My favourite part was seeing her run to her dad afterwards and excitedly tell him about it and show him the actions and words that Sarah had taught her. It was nice to see my little girl excited and all through the power of learning too!”
