Ashford & Maidstone Lingotot Centre
My name is Sara, I am a language specialist based in Maidstone. I have a degree in French and Spanish, and a Masters in Hispanic Studies. I lived in the north of Spain for several years and am a qualified EFL teacher. My husband is Spanish/Colombian and I have 2 beautiful children and a stepson who we are raising bilingual, we only speak Spanish at home!
I started Lingotot because I am very passionate about language learning, and the earlier the better! I believe it makes our children more open to other cultures and ideas and more logical thinkers not to mention the added benefit of being able to talk to more people!
I currently run language classes during curriculum time and after-school clubs at various schools around Maidstone, as well as nursery sessions and community classes in Maidstone, Leeds and Walderslade.
I am also super excited to announce that I am a finalist in the Kent Women in Business Awards 2018 after starting Lingotot Maidstone less than a year ago and have also hired a wonderful French tutor to keep up with demand!
I would love to see you and your children at one of our classes soon!
Muchas gracias/ merci beaucoup!

We would just like to say how much we enjoy having Sara from Lingotot attend our nursery at Busy Bees Maidstone Hospital
We would just like to say how much we enjoy having Sara from Lingotot attend our nursery at Busy Bees Maidstone Hospital every Tuesday. The group of children she teaches at the moment are really enjoying the sessions and are learning lots of different words every week through songs and stories and fun and exciting activities. We would really recommend this to any new parents that want to join the group.

We couldn't recommend Sara enough.
Sara has been working with the school this academic year to promote and engage the children with Spanish. The assembly Sara delivered was great, the children knew the story and as a result were able to follow along and join in with the Spanish vocabulary. Since Christmas we have hosted a Lingotot class for children from Reception to Year 3 and Sara has developed their skills and confidence - with a mixture of reading, writing and speaking. As a result of the enthusiasm the children have shown, we are now teaching Spanish throughout the school. We couldn't recommend Sara enough.

Spanish at Tiger Primary
I was fortunate enough to meet Sara Barrett from Lingotot Maidstone at the EduKent Expo in November 2017. During this meeting she shared with me her passion for languages and was able to discuss what she could offer my Primary School. At no point did I feel that she was simply delivering a sales pitch. I could tell that her love of languages and her belief that all children should be exposed to good teaching of languages was her driving force.
Since this initial meeting, Sara has visited my school on many occasions. Firstly, she came and delivered an assembly in Spanish to the whole school. Here she told the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and exposed the children to the language of Spain.
Following on from this, she has started to run a Spanish after school club for our pupils. The feedback from this is extremely positive with parents being amazed at how much their children are enjoying the language and are able to share it with their families.
Sara is now about to embark on a new role at Tiger Primary School where she will be delivering Spanish lessons to all pupils as part of our curriculum.
Spanish is not a language that has been taught at Tiger before, but having met with Sara, we are now very excited about introducing this as our chosen foreign language.
We are also incredibly pleased with the value of the service and the resources that we are able to purchase. The whole package is very exciting.
Through the club she runs, I am very aware at how well Sara understands children and how she is able to tap in to what they enjoy and engage them in the learning. Her teaching is devised with the whole child in mind. Children are involved in the process and not merely taught at. She uses practical, hands on activities and makes learning fun. How can a child not want to learn when it is delivered in this way.
