Return to teaching with Lingotot

There has been much in the news recently about the worrying number of teachers who are overwhelmed, frustrated and unfortunately, choosing to walk away from teaching.

In a recent BBC interview, Oli Ryan, former primary school Teacher, said: “I never really felt like I was on top of anything, ever - the amount of work that I found myself having to do week in week out, just to stay afloat [and] because I was tired, I was being less patient and understanding than I would have liked to have been.”

Unfortunately, Oli is far from alone in how he feels. A recent YouGov poll has revealed that over 83% of UK teachers find the job to be stressful, and suggest that marking workload, changing education policies, inspection regime and lesson planning are some of the main causes.

The YouGov poll also revealed that morale within teaching is in decline, as many teachers feel undervalued. Kate Harrison, former primary school Teacher, adds: “You’ve got a big chunk of a holiday, but over Christmas, I spent every day except Christmas day, working."

Angela Sterling, former Teacher and founder of Lingotot, says: “It’s a huge shame that teachers are under such constant pressure and unfortunately, it’s the children who are missing out because high quality, experienced teachers are leaving the education sector.”

She continues: “Many of our franchisees are qualified, experienced teachers who have left teaching for reasons like this. They worked in a stressful position, often investing their own money into classroom materials and displays, using their evenings and weekends to catch up on marking and lesson planning and had a poor work-life balance. With Lingotot, the lesson plans are provided, the marking is minimal and we prioritise a system that promotes a healthy work-life balance - and our franchisees get to enjoy teaching again!”

Sofia Colas, Lingotot South Dublin, says: “My decision to take on the franchise was an easy one, based on Lingotot's reputation reflected in the world class and accredited lesson plans, the phenomenal support from the HQ team and the fact that since day 1, I felt part of an extended family.”

I would like to know more about this position if that's ok. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you Kibd regards Anna Maria
