Lingotot Coronavirus Covid-19 Update

Posted: Fri, Mar 6, 2020 10:59 AM

We are mindful that there is increasing anxiety about Coronavirus Covid-19 and we want to share with you government recommendations and our own recommendations and policies.

There are no current government recommendations to close preschool groups, nurseries or schools so Lingotot will be running sessions as normal. We would however request that all franchisees, teachers, parents, nursery and school workers do their due diligence to protect others by following government guidelines and go in to self isolation if they have attended high risk countries as outlined in the link below.

Anyone missing classes is welcome to make up sessions by attending any of our other venues once clear and are welcome to contact anyone at Lingotot to discuss further if needed.

We are strongly encouraging everyone to practice good hand hygiene on arrival, during sessions and when leaving. There are hand washing facilities at all venues.

However Lingotot is introducing the following additional measures to all classes from Saturday 7th March 2020 in order to give further reassurance to our customers:

1. All classes will be “no touch”. This means that no games or activities will be completed in class which ask children to make contact with each other.

2. All activities will be “zero props”. At Lingotot we always adhere to a strict cleaning policy for all props and toys we use in class. We will introduce short term measures to offer additional reassurance where no props in class will be handled by customers and only by the teacher.

Don’t worry, we have introduced some awesome and fun teaching activities which means that despite these measures being in place, the children will still have LOTS of fun and learning will still be engaging and effective.

Latest advice is available from the following website, which is regularly updated with level of risk, countries considered to be high risk and department for health recommendations:

Whilst we understand that this may be an anxious time for some people, it is important to realise that at the time of this statement, the UK is still considered a moderate risk area and the virus is thought to be managed well with good hand hygiene and protective measures.
