Lingotot South Belfast, started by Grazia D'Amico, have been successfully running their online Italian and French, and outdoor French classes since September. They are now ready for the launch of their indoor classes at the beginning of January. Sessions will be run in nurseries, community classes, primary after school clubs and holiday clubs in Italian, French and Spanish.

Grazia was born and raised in the Abruzzo region of Italy. She left home to travel and soon discovered a fascination with the beauty of other countries, cultures and ultimately languages.

With a background in Graphic Design, IT Customer Service, Disney-land Ticketing and more, Grazia explains that she ‘always felt something missing. Being a mum, I wanted an opportunity to spend more time with my young children. Finding Lingotot has meant that I can run my own business around the needs of my children and help a new generation develop that same passion for languages.’

Lingotot classes aim to make language learning fun for children by focusing on what they like to do. They are interactive with songs, games, stories and crafts, all designed to help children learn naturally without them even realising they are doing so. Grazia has realised her local need for this kind of learning in Belfast.

When asked why she decided to bring Lingotot to Belfast, Grazia explained ‘I have encountered some language learning obstacles with my own children due to a lack of target language exposure and their attendance of creche at a young age. No schools or tutors seemed prepared to teach languages to children at such a young age. This was how I came to realise that many families could benefit from having the support to overcome these difficulties.’
