The Lingotot Story

Angela founded Lingotot in 2010 after a career teaching languages in the UK and internationally, including as Head of Languages. Three of her GCSE German students achieved results ranked among the world's top ten. Inspired by her experiences of early language learning, she launched Lingotot while on maternity leave and began franchising in 2011. Today, Angela leads the company's strategy, curriculum development and franchise training, drawing on her educational expertise to help more children discover the joy of languages. She still loves getting back into the classroom!

Angela joined Lingotot in January 2024, bringing extensive experience in leadership, operations and business development. After progressing from the shop floor to regional management in retail, she spent 13 years supporting veterinary professionals within a joint venture partnership model, developing expertise particularly relevant to franchising. At Lingotot, Angela supports franchise partners, helps strengthen business operations and keeps the network running smoothly. Away from work, she enjoys family trips to Bamburgh, spending time with her Jack Russell, Rosie, and renovating dollhouses.

Erin joined Lingotot in 2024 as our Administrative and Marketing Assistant and quickly became an important part of the head office team. She supports the day-to-day running of the business, coordinates communications, creates engaging marketing content and helps deliver campaigns promoting Lingotot's language classes, school services and franchise network. With an eye for detail and a proactive approach, Erin helps ensure that teachers, franchise partners and colleagues have the information and support they need. She's one of the people who keeps everything moving behind the scenes!

Anna has been part of Lingotot since the very beginning. In fact, she's the reason it exists! Angela founded Lingotot in 2010 while on maternity leave with Anna, making her the very first Lingotot baby. Now, seventeen years later, Anna has officially joined the family business as our Marketing Apprentice, working towards her Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer qualification. She helps create content, supports our digital marketing and brings fresh ideas to the team. From inspiring the business as a baby to helping it grow as a teenager, Anna's Lingotot journey has come full circle!

Sofia is the driving force behind Lingotot Ireland, bringing her passion for languages to children and families across Dublin. Growing up in a trilingual household, languages have been woven into the fabric of her life from an early age, inspiring her to share that love with the next generation.

With a deep belief in the power of language as a life skill, Sofia is committed to making learning fun, engaging and accessible for every child. Her goal is to prepare children not only for secondary school but also to give them the confidence to use new languages in everyday life. Through Lingotot's play-based, interactive classes, Sofia ensures that children learn while moving, playing and having fun, often without even realising they're absorbing a new language!

Sofia is passionate about building a language-learning community that involves not just the children but their families too, fostering a love for languages that extends beyond the classroom. Her dedication to creating motivating and supportive environments helps children thrive and develop skills that will stay with them for life. Outside of Lingotot, Sofia enjoys exploring the outdoors, trying out new recipes and spending quality time with family and friends, often switching between languages mid-conversation.
