Since 2010, Lingotot has provided specialist primary language teaching and MFL PPA cover to hundreds of schools, and today more than 20,000 children learn with Lingotot every week.
We provide engaging, progressive language teaching delivered by fluent linguists with specialist training in teaching languages to children. From curriculum MFL and PPA cover to clubs, qualifications and whole-school language experiences, we help schools give children brilliant language learning.
PPA cover that doesn't feel like cover.
Lingotot can provide MFL PPA cover, with a specialist Lingotot teacher delivering structured curriculum language lessons while the class teacher takes their planning, preparation and assessment time.
We can take responsibility for your curriculum language provision or complement the teaching already happening in school. We plan and deliver lessons, assess children's learning and provide the information you need about their progress.
Bringing in a language specialist can also help address the skills gap in primary languages, without expecting existing staff to become language experts themselves.
The result is meaningful curriculum time for children and one less thing for your existing team to worry about.
Our curriculum has been designed specifically for children, combining screen-free, play-based and highly interactive learning with carefully structured progression.
We support children from EYFS through KS1 and KS2, with programmes aligned, where appropriate, to the National Curriculum in England, Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland and Curriculum for Wales.
Children build strong foundations across the three pillars of language learning, with a particular focus on vocabulary, phonics and grammar, while developing their Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
Across the Lingotot network we teach Arabic, English, French, German, Irish, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Welsh, with availability varying by area.
Regular assessment and reporting help schools understand how children are progressing rather than language learning being a series of disconnected activities.
Lingotot children can work towards our Certificate in Primary Languages, giving them the opportunity to finish primary school with a recognised achievement in their language learning.
The qualification assesses Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing, with three award levels benchmarked at Entry Levels 1-3, giving children a recognised achievement before they move on to secondary language learning and GCSE.
It is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Arabic.
Our qualifications are accredited by NCFE, an Ofqual-regulated awarding body.
Great language provision starts with the person standing in front of the children.
All Lingotot teachers complete our Certificate in Teaching Primary Languages, accredited by NCFE, an Ofqual-regulated awarding body.
Teachers also hold enhanced DBS clearance and complete training in safeguarding, data protection and first aid.
Their Lingotot training covers the practical skills required to teach languages effectively to children, including classroom organisation, behaviour management, assessment and teaching methodology.
Most importantly, they're linguists who get to teach their specialism.
