Hi. My name is Lucy Cass. I am a local mum of two teenage children from Darlington and a trained Modern Foreign Language teacher. After working in a Secondary school for 17 years and having my family, I decided I wanted a job, that was more flexible and family friendly so bought Lingotot Darlington which covers Darlington, Richmond/Catterick, Barnard Castle, Northallerton and surrounding areas.

Here at Lingotot Darlington we offer Modern Foreign Language sessions to children through community classes, nursery sessions and primary schools. Now I am an experienced primary language teacher, going into my 12th year of trading and over the 11 years have delivered many of the courses we can offer including - Babies, Little Lingotots, Nursery sessions, School sessions (PPA and after school clubs), Forest school inspired sessions and Lingostars Drama. I can really see the benefits to early language learning and love delivering our fun and interactive sessions from birth to age 11.

We learn in a friendly and relaxed environment and sessions include songs, games/play, stories and craft activities. Learning a second language improves a brain's "executive function" which includes skills like planning, problem solving and focusing. As well as learning another language, children also gain a great many other important skills too eg learning to listen, share/take turns. It also exposes children to cultural differences fostering a greater appreciation and understanding of other peoples and cultures.

Our sessions are planned in line with the children's age and abilities and we are the only language provider to offer an accredited course to our KS2 learners. We have just updated all our KS2 planning. We will help build a POSITIVE foundation for future language studies.
