North Manchester Lingotot Centre
North Manchester Lingotot Centre
Bonjour, hola and a great big hello!
If you're having a look at this page then hopefully it means that you're looking for language classes for either your children or the children you teach, in which case you're in the right place!
I'm Catharine Townley and I am delighted to own and teach all the classes at Lingotot North Manchester. I am a local Mum to two gorgeous girls and an experienced languages teacher with a background in secondary teaching. I really love what I do and I go home every day with a big smile on my face!
Which languages do you teach?
French and Spanish ( but lots of my Lingotot colleagues teach other languages so get in touch and I'll point you in the right direction). I have a degree in Spanish and European Studies, and have taught both French and Spanish in secondary schools.
Which classes can my children come to?
My timetable changes frequently ( thanks Covid!) so hop over to my Facebook or Instagram pages for the most upto date timetables or email me NorthManchester@Lingotot.com
I teach in Primary schools, nurseries and also run a group for Home Education children as well as a Pre School Spanish group.
My child doesn't attend a school, are there any classes for them?
On Mondays I run a Pre School Spanish class for children under 5 at www.outsideeducation.co.uk in Prestwich which is open to any Little Lingotots and on Tuesdays I run a Spanish class for children aged 10-14 who are Home Educated. These are lovely, small groups but if you would like to join in then please just get in touch NorthManchester@Lingotot.com
For Little Lingotots there are nursery sessions at Clarendon Cottage Prep School, The Cottage Nursery and Monton Village Nursery. These are exclusive classes just for children who attend those settings. I would love to return to my nurseries and pre schools across Bury soon, and I hope that I will be able to bring you more news about this soon.
Which schools do you teach at?
Please check my timetable on my Social Media pages but at the moment I teach French at St Hilda's in Prestwich, Spanish at St Margaret's in Prestwich and also at Greenhill School in Ainsworth. When I am able to, I would love to provide lunch and after school clubs too but I will share more information once the current situation has improved. I really missed my school clubs; they're so much fun!
How much does it cost?
Each school is different so please get in touch with me to discuss a bespoke quote for your school or nursery. Needless to say we offer excellent value for money as you will receive high quality language provision that is provide my a language specialist.
Are you teaching during the Covid restrictions?
We have taken all necessary precautions to change our classes to make sure we are Covid safe. As a company Lingotot have completed extensive risk assessments to ensure the safety of the children we teach and the grownups we come into contact with. I wear a visor during classes, remain at a 2 m distance from children and there are no props used in my Little Lingotots classes ( I miss my parachute!). I am able to teach classes via Zoom if necessary too, and did weekly online classes during the first Lockdown.
We already do languages in our school, what else can you do to help?
That's fantastic that you already teach languages at your school! You might want to change the language you teach at school or you might need support from a languages expert. We could also help by offering lunch or after school clubs, theme days, assemblies or support for staff who need CPD for teaching languages. We offer lots of different packages for our schools so get in touch and we will see what is best for the children and staff at your school.
I love messages - it makes my day hearing about all of the amazing things my Lingotots have done to shown off at home. So PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE tell me about a time when they have used French and Spanish outside of our classes, I love it! They might have been really brave and ordered something in a cafe, or treated you to a rendition of "brilla brilla", either way share it with me.
I am still learning how to be a business lady ( and not just a teacher) so please let me know if there is something else I can do to help your amazing children learn Spanish or French; I promise not to be upset!
Life is too short to go searching for information so drop me a line below or have a nosey at my photots and videos!
Thanks a lot, Catharine Townley
