Lingotot North Manchester | Former Secondary French & Spanish Teacher | Enthusiastic Linguist, Traveller & Coffee Devotee
Hello! I’m Catharine, the director of Lingotot North Manchester and a firm believer that language learning should be joyful, confidence‑boosting, and powered by equal parts enthusiasm and caffeine.
Before launching Lingotot North Manchester, I taught French and Spanish in secondary schools, guiding students through GCSE and A‑level with passion, patience, and the ability to explain tricky grammar in a way that didn’t make anyone want to hide under a desk. I loved helping teenagers discover that languages open doors — to travel, to culture, and occasionally to impress people at parties.
These days, I work with much younger learners, which means my lessons now involve more singing, more movement, more silliness, and far fewer debates about homework. I deliver fun, immersive language sessions across schools, nurseries, and community settings, helping children discover that learning a new language is exciting, empowering, and something they can absolutely do.
Outside the classroom, I’m a proud mum of two lovely girls, who keep me laughing, learning, and negotiating in multiple languages on a daily basis. As a family, we love travelling the world, exploring new places, practicing languages in real‑life situations, and sampling snacks everywhere we go.
And yes — I am fuelled by a deep and unwavering love of coffee. It keeps me cheerful, energetic, and fully prepared for anything a room full of enthusiastic children might throw at me (sometimes literally).
If you’re looking for language learning that’s warm, welcoming, and full of laughter, bienvenue and bienvenidos — you’re in exactly the right place.
