Holiday Camps are back

We're now into our 4th year of running holiday camps and we think we've got it nailed! We get really positive feedback from all the children and loads of repeat customers which can only be a good sign. Our camps offer a brilliant mixture of songs, games, active learning, stories, crafts, team challenges and play. We run from 10-2 and some sessions are funded by free school meals funding and others are parent paid.

We start our days with a bit of an active warm learning various action words and playing some games and singing some songs with them. Once we're all warmed up we stop for a snack before we do some more Spanish learning. We do a different topic every day and learn some words and lay lots of active games with them and do a few more songs. We then do a craft related to our topic and the children absolutely love this part of our sessions! Then it's normally lunch time and after lunch we have some outdoor play time. We then normally have a story while our afternoon challenge is set up - sometimes it's a treasure hunt, sometimes a quiz, sometimes a making challenge; it just depends on the topic. I think our favourite ever challenge was when we made children work in groups to decorate one of them as a Christmas tree! By the time that's over it's normally home time.

We give out workbooks with colouring and wordsearches in and all the vocabulary from the day for children to practise at home and they can do these at any point throughout the day. So far we've covered topics ranging from superheroes to mini-beasts and Springtime to Harry Potter. We haven't chosen our topics for Easter yet but we can't wait to get planning next week!
